TATTOO CARE GUIDE
How do I prepare for my tattoo session?
Exfoliate and moisturize the area. You don’t have to shave, it’s best to do it on the spot!
Eat, rest and avoid drinking alcohol the day before
Bring comfy clothes that leave the tattooing area accessible or bring extra ones to change into
You can also bring your favorite snacks and beverages!
What about aftercare?
Wash with colder/lukewarm water using a neutral soap
Remove second skin as instructed on the tattoo session
Gently pat dry with a clean towel/paper towels and leave it for the night. It’s important to let the skin breathe during this time, so no cream for now
The following day, wash with neutral soap and apply a thin layer of cream twice a day
What creams do you recommend?
Eveyone will have a different preference on what cream to use, but my personal preference is Aquaphor or Pegasus Tattoo cream, as I find them to be the best for sensitive/eczema prone skin.
It’s very important that you apply a thin layer of any cream you choose as to not suffocate your pores.
NOTE: I don’t recommend using pure Vaseline (it doesn’t let the skin breathe) or anything like coconut oil, aloe vera, etc.
The last two are totally fine to use on healed skin, but can be especially dangerous on the first days after you get your tattoo done. They can easily become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria.
Remember - tattoos are wounds, it’s important to treat them as such.
What soap should I use?
Anything simple and neutral, like baby soaps!
neutral
fragrance free
alcohol free
Each experience is different, but...
Ink and plasma will come out of your tattoo for the first few days. This is normal, just gently wash it away!
Your tattoo may become flaky, itchy or scab as it heals. Continue applying thin layer of cream and trust the process for the full month.
Sometimes skin is unpredictable, so feel free to update me or send a message if you have any concerns <3
